The award is open to all international physicians: ex. Pediatricians, family medicine doctors, adult psychiatrists, child and adolescent psychiatrists, and other physicians primarily work with children and adolescents by providing mental health services.

Established in 1953, The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is a 501 non-profit professional association in the United States dedicated to facilitating psychiatric care for children and adolescents. Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
Medical doctors from countries other than the USA are encouraged to apply. The award will favor physicians from underserved areas who primarily work with children and adolescents providing mental health services, with good command of the English language (both spoken and written), commitment to a fruitful career in their country of origin, and the possibility of having a local impact after the experience.

Admission Requirements: After their experience, awardees will be required to write and provide an article for AACAP News highlighting their experience. In addition, they will be required to submit a final report to AACAP.
Language Requirement:  You must have written and spoken with good command of English language proficiency and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Benefits

The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry will provide the amount of $2,500 towards Annual Meeting registration, lodging, and travel for AACAP’s Annual Meeting. In addition to the financial aspect of the award, each recipient receives a special award plaque at the International Reception held during AACAP’s Annual Meeting.
